Feb. 2008 - Aug. 2008Camp Arifjan, KuwaitCDDOC utilizes a small team of logistics subject matter experts from each branch of the Armed Forces to optimize the movement of troops, supplies, weapons, vehicles and other DOD cargo to Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas within the United States Central Command's area of responsibility. As Air Force Sustainment Future Operations officer he led a team that forecasts future transportation requirements and movements. Through researched historical data, planned unit deployments, and future planned sustainment movements, his team determines how to best plan future logistics needs for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. During his tour he was the sole liaison officer to both Iraq and Afghanistan based units traveling routinely to both locations. CDDOC moves supplies throughout an area of operations that includes 27 countries ranging from Egypt to Kazakhstan. Within that 6.5 million square mile area, CDDOC supports OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (now called OPERATION NEW DAWN) and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM through focused operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and Uzbekistan.
