Virgin Limited EditionSpecial Projects Manager to Sir Richard Branson
Jan. 2004 - Sep. 2012Necker Island, BVIHaving started as the Watersports Manager on Necker Island in 2004, I quickly built a close relationship with the island's owners and transitioned to the role of Special Projects Manager, working directly for Sir Richard Branson. I coordinated daily with the island manager and SRB's executive team to manage a variety of personal projects that he wanted to pursue outside of Virgin-related business activities. This role was extremely diverse, encompassing projects ranging from the introduction of a three-person wet submarine to the reintroduction of flamingo and iguana species, as well as attempts to break Guinness World Records—anything that SRB was personally interested in pursuing outside of his business life. I later trained teams to manage the daily operations of these projects, many of which are still running today, allowing me to continue focusing on Richard's next 'moonshot' ideas. We also co-founded projects such as the KiteJam events held in the BVI and Hawai'i, which attracted sponsorship from brands like Billabong and Sony, making them the world's first pro-am kitesurfing events.
