Advance FinancialSenior Software Analyst
Jul. 2016 - Mar. 2018Nashville, TNWith Advance Financial, I etched a corporate career driven by my need to impel quality by ensuring things are picture-perfect. Promoted to be the Senior Software Quality Assurance Tester, I serve as a key member of the software development team. As the lead QA tester on key development projects for the company, I lead a three-member software QA testing team in identifying the root cause of intermittent interoperability glitches in the FiNext ERP software, leading to a no-fault audit finding; addressing areas including database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error/bug retests & usability. I create and execute software test plans, cases and scripts to uncover, identify and document software problems and their causes using bug tracking systems and report defects involving program functionality, output, online screen and content to software developers; delivering thorough QA testing reports that determine product quality & release readiness. I lead the QA testing processes that notably:
Created the company’s first comprehensive database of documented test defects and procedures to enable accurate replication and ensure compliance with standards. This helped accelerate average QA testing turn-around time by 25% or more, allowing the team to accept more testing work without increasing staff.
Prevented hundreds of thousands of dollars in erroneous charges to end customers, by identifying a software bug in the automated collection systems.
Pinpointed previously undiscovered flaws in signed loan agreement documents, averting major compliance and regulatory issues. In addition, I transitioned the software development efforts to a test-driven development (TDD) process, which brought QA testing in on the front-end of the development life-cycle for gains in code quality, software functionality and programmer productivity; by providing developer teams with detailed reports on quality metrics, identified bugs/flaws and recommended fixes.
