ThinkPlace KenyaStrategic Designer - Senior Project Manager
Oct. 2016Kenya, NairobiSince joining ThinkPlace Kenya in 2016, I’ve led multidisciplinary design teams across Africa to turn human insight into transformative solutions for public health, education, and climate resilience. My work sits at the intersection of behavioral science, systems thinking, and co-creation, bringing together governments, NGOs, and communities to reimagine how essential services are designed and delivered.
I’ve designed and managed over 30 Human-Centered Design projects across 11 African countries, working with partners such as John Snow Inc., Marie Stopes, Johnson&Johnson, Population Services International, AAYMCA, The Gates Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, International Rescue Committee, UNICEF, Gavi, Aga Khan Foundation, and the World Food Programme. From redesigning maternal and child health service delivery systems in Ethiopia to using storytelling to increase vaccine uptake in South Sudan, my focus has always been on creating solutions that are grounded, scalable, and deeply human.
Beyond implementation, I’ve trained over 200 community leaders and frontline workers in Human-Centered Design, helping embed design-led thinking within institutions and local ecosystems. My approach combines creative facilitation, behavioral insight generation, and adaptive risk management to co-create solutions that not only solve immediate challenges but build lasting capacity for innovation.
