The Guild for Human ServicesAssistant Residential Manager
Jun. 2011 - Dec. 2013Waltham, Boston, MassachusettsThe Guild for Human Services offers a continuum of services for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities, including autism, and behavioral/mental health challenges. The students have individualized behavior support plans based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and receive evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health care. I managed a residential group home for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and behavioral/mental health challenges. Provided 24/7 support to students, fostering a safe, engaging, and therapeutic living environment aligned with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. Coordinated daily programming, recreational activities, and community outings to promote social and life skills development. Oversaw residential operations including staff scheduling, payroll, training coordination, budgeting, and transportation logistics. Prepared and distributed detailed student progress reports to interdisciplinary teams (parents, medical staff, educators, and lead clinicians). Responded to and resolved employee relations issues, including conflict mediation and complaint management. Maintained administrative records, performed clerical duties, and safely administered prescribed medications in accordance with agency policies. Supervised and coached residential staff to ensure consistent, trauma-informed care delivery under high-pressure conditions.
