As Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer I oversee the construction of a greenfield plant including permitting, engineering, land development, and procurement. I also lead business development, fundraising, and supplier relationships. In this position, I manage a $20M annual operating budget and 5 employees. My most notable accomplishments included: ► Expected to complete construction of world’s sole facility capable of transforming acid whey into marketable commodities for $18M versus initially budgeted $21M. ► Negotiated 10-year agreement with FAGE to process 90M gallons of acid whey waste and built physical pipeline running directly from FAGE’s plant to Johnstown Renewables plant. ► Raised $6M in equity financing from Private Equity. ► Received sole grant for $3M from New York state government out of multiple competitors in renewable sector. ► Projected to generate revenues of $9.8M at 60%+ net margins by 2020.

Jun. 2009 - Jan. 2014USACaseus Energy is a private equity-backed startup converting food waste into biofuels with $3.5M in assets and 6 employees. I was recruited by GDL Capital after the private equity firm’s purchase of technology developed at Grand Meadow Energy/DuBay Ingredients and of the underlying plant operations. I evaluated new technologies prior to acquisition, drove business development, and structured licensing agreements while leading 3 employees. My key contributions to the organization were: ► Forged new customer relationships, winning 5-year agreements with U.S. Oil and U.S. Venture to purchase Caseus’s biofuels, projected to generate $20M+ in revenues. ► Structured licensing agreements with Etanable, Conxentra, and Nexen Consulting, projected to deliver $1M in incremental annual revenues. ► Led negotiations with U.S. Department of Energy to classify dairy liquid waste as feedstock for advanced biofuel production, enabling Caseus to qualify for D5 RIN generation. ► Structured $5 million USDA Guaranty loan with Forward Bank. ► Secured feedstock agreements with leading dairy processing plants. ► Obtained $2M in grants from State of Wisconsin to launch new $16M processing plant. Collaborated with local municipality, acquired land, obtained necessary permits, and led engineering team in design of project.

As Chief Executive Officer, I collaborated with federal and state governments to obtain funding and regulatory approvals for the retrofit of our purchased facility. I developed commercial strategy, built R&D partnerships with universities, and drove media engagement. My best achievements were: ► Obtained $350K+ in grants from Wisconsin’s Department of Energy of Independence. ► Structured research partnerships with University of Wisconsin and University of Minnesota. ► Featured in ABC’s “Planet Green” program with Bob Woodraff as well as in Ethanol Magazine and Biomass Magazine and numerous other industry publications. ► Partnered with leading algae company to eliminate purchases of external fuel by growing algae on plant’s waste water and burning extracted algae oil for fuel. Saved $50K annually.
