Key achievements a) Growth of own source revenue in the Liquor Licensing Department from KES 38M in the 2022/2023 financial year to the current KES 84M in the 2023/2024 financial year through the deployment of various procedural and personnel changes b) Organizing and leading an Investor Round Table for the County Government that saw county government officials including Her Excellency the Governor, national government officials including Hon. Rebecca Miano, CS for Investment, Trade and Innovation, and national agencies in charge of electricity provision, road network, licensing and other ancillary services for trade and investment come together to discuss trade within the county. Three policies are in production by the department as a result of this forum – the most significant being the Local Sourcing Policy that will allow first charge preference for procurement to manufacturers and producers within the county in exchange for CSR and employment prioritization to the citizens of the county. c) Spearheaded the mapping exercise for all businesses, industries, and small and medium enterprises across the County to have visibility on their source revenue projections. This has led to a more than 25% increase in OSR across different revenue streams within the County. d) Developed the Investor Journey for the County Government that shows requirements for investment in the county, priority sectors, and timelines within which approvals can be made in collaboration with various departments to ensure ease of doing business within the County.
