Feb. 2018 - Feb. 2019Nairobi, KenyaThe Access Collaborative (AC) project supported countries to introduce Subcutaneous Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA-SC) into their public health supply chain systems. Countries were supported in national quantification and supply planning for new product introduction and in developing robust Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) frameworks for the successful introduction of DMPA-SC. Specific tasks included the provision of technical assistance towards high-quality implementation of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) components of DMPA-SC introduction and scale-up plans in priority countries (Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia) as the primary contact person for these components. Key milestones included provision of technical assistance in national quantification and supply planning of family planning commodities (Kenya, Myanmar); completion of Country-specific DMPA-SC MLE framework for Nigeria and Kenya and as appropriate and when needed, provision of a combination of remote and in-country, hands-on support to AC country coordinators (Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia) and partners for both development of country-specific data collection and analysis plans and routine MLE of DMPA-SC introduction and scale-up. Contributed towards learning related to SCM and MLE in the DMPA-SC Learning and Action Network (LAN) in which key public, private, and NGO partners from priority countries shared results, lessons learned, and deliver peer-based technical support to improve practices.
