Oct. 2019Hope and Health is a sport based program and social movement that engages Indigenous children and youth to improve long-term health and life outcomes. Our focus on 'Champions for Life' outcomes highlights our dedication to respecting Indigenous knowledge and cultural protocols, amplifying Indigenous voices, fostering community capacity through our community-based model and educating the public about reconciliation. Hope and Health demonstrates a steadfast commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, specifically those related to sport (87-91) and in alignment with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) Article 31, we honuor and uphold the right of Indigenous peoples to maintain, control, protect, and develop their cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and cultural expressions. This commitment is interwoven into all aspects of our work, ensuring that Indigenous knowledge and traditions remain integral to the programs we deliver.
