The main problem was to get several servers (SunOS, Red Hat, Debian, SuSE, Windows 2003), to authenticate users towards a Novell NDS (Network Directory Services, which is mainly a proprietary version of an LDAP Tree that integrates all of Novell Services) • Tech Support for Linux Services and Servers • Participated in several Government projects. • Developed a LiveCD, based on Gentoo distribution, that Installs and configures a full Linux server running Apache/PERL/PHP, MySQL, ProFTPD, Samba, eGroupWare, phpMyAdmin, Jive (Jabber Service), Advanced Firewall, Advanced routing, Load Balancing, Bandwidth Priority, OpenVPN, among others. • Developed and installed a simple Backup Automation tool for Linux Servers based on USB-Storage Hard Disk using USB-storage kernel module and HotPlug service. Also developed an installer for this application. • Developed Unix Scripts that collect information about Hardware status, hardware alarms, and mails to the admins, helping the administrator to do his work more efficiently. • Installed LDAP Services. Integrated user authentication for all of the services in the PuntoCero Server (ProFTPD, Qmail, UserQuotas, Samba, and MySQL) developed a simple tool to add users to the LDAP having the right privileges and properties for all of the services. • Also developed a LiveCD based on Gentoo with many hardware testing tools, an X graphical user interface, with browsers and net-tools, hardware detection.
