Sep. 2003 - Feb. 2015Sarasota, FloridaEstablished and managed the Office of Research Programs and Services, provided oversight of the grants management process and all grant and contract activity; assisted with budgets, expenditures and monitoring; trained faculty and students about resources and funding opportunities; attended governance meetings at the local & state level as well as the VPs of Research on behalf of the College; created the Office of National Fellowships and advised all students interested in applying for nationally recognized fellowships such as Fulbright, Rhodes, etc. helping New College to secure more prestigious fellowships, per capita, than any other elite liberal arts institution. ● Worked collaboratively with other departments such as Alumni Association, Advancement, Institutional Research, Human Resources and the Business Office to facilitate externally funded programs on and off campus.
● Developed and executed all grant functions, policies & procedures, from pre-award budget development through post-award expenditures and processes, database management, and problem solving.
● Created, organized and executed numerous undergraduate and faculty research programs and outreach endeavors as well as public promotion of research opportunities (see LinkedIn for materials).
● Secured consistent funding and community support of a science summer camp for high-risk middle and high school students every year for 11 years resulting in 200+ students learning hands-on science.
● Negotiated a multiyear contract with a Central Florida organization totaling over $2M in revenue and resulting in over 20 NCF students taking graduate level courses in Zoo Biology at one of the top zoos in the country.
