Dr. Alex Johnson , a Retired Chief Academic Officer and Professor, has made significant contributions to the field of health professions graduate education over 30+ years.. During his tenure, Johnson spearheaded the launch of academic programs and curriculum redesign that that increased student enrollment and tripled research grant support across multiple disciplines (nursing, health and rehabilitation sciences, leadership, health professions education, ) . As a consultant, Dr. Johnson has worked with health sciences programs at top-tier universities globally, helping to achieve accreditation, redesign curricula, and implement innovative teaching strategies. Johnson’s own scholarly work has focused on diagnosis and rehabilitation in adult neurological disorders, leadership, inter professional practices, and education in the health professions. He has served as president of national associations , addressed large and small conference audiences, and has consulted in the United States, Taiwan, China, India, UAE, and Israel. Johnson has numerous publications, including several books. He is the recipient of the Honors of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a fellow of the National Academies of Practice. Johnson served as Provost (CAO) and Vice President at MGH Institute of Health Professions until his retirement in 2022.
