It is the world leader in that segment with over 20 000 clients. I am currently managing 148 employees spread across 6 teams in South Africa (Johannesburg, Hazyview), and India (Mumbai). Most of the work is done remotely (I currently manage 12 communication channels via What’s App and Microsoft Teams). In addition, I regularly liaise with 10 overseas offices located in Europe, Israel, Asia, and the USA. My teams are responsible for ensuring that invoice data is correctly captured according to the tax rules of over 27 countries. We also audit and perform data extraction from our clients’ expense management systems. In total, we process over 350 000 invoices a month. As I manage many employees, I put a lot of emphasis on improving business processes, quality and efficiencies. My current duties include: • People management (setting and reviewing performance goals) • Human resources related matters such as disciplinary proceedings and performance monitoring • Looking after the welfare of employees • Mentoring • Ensure blockers are quickly addressed and followed through (for example, IT related issues) • Responsible for hiring across all my teams (well over more than 200 people) • Ensuring that all my staff receive adequate training, and on many occasions, conducting the training myself I provide mentoring to other managers and team leaders and I ensure all teams are well aligned to the company’s objectives. I proactively seek to resolve issues affecting other departments and I always make myself available to help. I work closely with the IT department and I was instrumental in building systems to help the company through its digital transition. Projects I’ve worked on include: • Paperless invoice capture • Process automaton with OCR • Workflow automation with Salesforce
