ExxonMobilWastewater Engineer (SCP)
May. 2023 - Nov. 2024• Spearheaded the implementation and stewardship of Safety Risk from the ground up. Cleared 11 overdue SSHE items (including 7 from a 2021's HAZOP study) and reduced Risk Units by 10%. Set clear standards and stewardship structure for Business Unit and facilitated effective handovers amidst transitions, ensuring full closure and ownership. • Achieved USD 45K in savings by opting for a different chemical cleaning vendor from the past turnaround practices, overcoming stakeholder resistance with technical justification. Reinstated aerobic digester after a decade, reducing sludge trucking. Prevented a potential environmental excursion by collaborating with NALCO and EMTEC, saving USD 1M in truck-out costs. • Reinstated DAF2 operations after 3 years of inactivity. Tackled benzene-related risks and instrumentation gaps through a comprehensive risk assessment and cross-functional collaboration. Successfully reinstated the cover, restored reliability, and enabled the unit to process low-cost, high-benzene crude, unlocking USD 225k in credits. • Evaluated and relaxed methanol limits without compromising Biological Treatment Unit (BIOX) health. Develop a phased trial plan, monitored BIOX performance microscopically, and transitioned to quarterly health checks. This enabled the shutdown of the methanol tower, saving USD 34.7k/month in operating costs. • Captured USD 114K/year in credits by rationalizing sampling frequency. Partnered with EMTEC and chemists to challenge norms and streamline lab operations. • Enabled USD 110K/month in savings by validating SAR-2 Wastewater processing at SCPU. Partnered with NALCO to ensure compatibility and system health, and providing reliable contingency plan. • Revived an exchanger inactive since 2008, unlocking USD 578K/year in steam credits amidst rising energy costs. Collaborated across teams to ensure smooth recommissioning. Devised a fast-track method to create ullage and minimize BT disruptions.
