Technical Producer
Snap Inc.Technical Producer
Jul. 2019 - Nov. 2020Santa Monica, California, United StatesAfter interning, I was offered a full-time position with the IT Events team to support their live production events. Here I was able to advance my technical knowledge to solve complex problems and learn to listen to customer needs to help them execute wide scale events. I learned about the different roles of event planning from understanding the scope of a project and providing guidance to best suit the needs of the event. I loved being in a position to empower employees on using our internal systems so they felt comfortable running their meetings. Not every event goes to plan so it was important for me to stay calm under high pressure situations where systems may have malfunctioned, mics dropped, or content coming to us at the very last minute. When covid hit, it required the team to drastically shift our live in-person events to a virtual ecosystem. Some meetings already held a hybrid component to reach other members from across the globe, but it challenged us to tackle other events for the recruiting team or global brand strategy. We leveraged different platforms to see what would work best for our needs. As we continued to reiterate new procedures, I was in charge of documenting our processes for future implementation. I facilitated our hub of documents, procedures and equipment inventory. I primarily worked with the Eng Department to support bi-weekly all hands meetings across offices in AMEA/NA , demo presentations and hackathon events.

Mar. 2018 - Jul. 2019Greater Los Angeles AreaInterning at Snap during my last year of college provided me with many opportunities to gain new skills, challenge my own technical capabilities and make an impact on the company. I worked on various projects from creating tutorial videos with Premiere Pro to teach internal employees how to create meetings with Google Calendar, understand the technical functions of a training room using Google Hangouts and basic guidelines on meeting etiquette. I was able to implement my experience of organizational meetings from my academic sorority into our weekly all hands by setting up a system similar to Robert's Rules of Order. Since I was capturing notes to later use in a newsletter to be sent to the entire IT department, I suggested a new meeting format. This new structure allowed everyone a chance to provide an update, keep the information concise and save about 10-15 minutes for any longer discussions at the end. My favorite project was one I created for myself - the Employee Resource Group Portal. There was a need to host all the information regarding the ERGs at Snap in one place. At the time, it was difficult for someone to learn more information without having to reach out to someone from the DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) team and this created a barrier to entry. So I created the first portal that provided the list of ERGs, contact information and photos from previous events.
