Mar. 2013 - Sep. 2013Rochester, NYDesigned and developed application allowing professors and graduate students to accept, rate, and comment upon images and documents relating to applications for a commission to install a new statue on the River Campus. Functionality included AJAX uploads, comments and ratings, ImageMagic-driven thumbnails for both images and PDF documents, administrative and public user roles and privileges. Using Zurb Foundation responsive web design technology, jQuery scripting and HTML5/CSS3 design, developed the University of Rochester’s Big Data website, highlighting the U of R’s multi-million dollar venture into the world of massive data analysis:
http://rochester.edu/rocdata/ Developed an open source WordPress plugin creating an academic-specific Content Management System. The plugin provides a means for academic faculty and students to display publications, profile information, selected third-party news feeds and photo galleries on their websites, while at the same time allowing site managers to enable and disable content types on a per-site basis. Developed jQuery-driven, dynamic and validated forms to replace paper-based processes such as registering classes, professors and graduate students for new classes to be taught at the University. Created a framework and advised the creation of a javascript-driven search engine to display mathematical formulas and their graphs to publish vital optics content previously held in out-of-print textbooks.
