Experienced manager and teacher. Former university lecturer. Designed online courses and training programmes. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) completed in the UK with The University of Liverpool. My dissertation was entitled ‘Emotional Intelligence and its Impact Upon Morale’. My preferred style of leadership and management is centred upon emotional intelligence. I very much consider myself to be a people person with extensive experience mentoring, coaching and training others. My life as an academic ensures that I have plenty of experience in presenting proposals and delivering information to large groups of people. I have extensive knowledge and experience managing people and teams in an operational environment, and building and maintaining teams is one of my strongest skill sets. I am also familiar with working with numerous Government agencies in a collaborative fashion. As a fulltime Tutor/Lecturer in the Aquaculture department of NMIT. I lectured in Aquaculture for Certificate programmes, Degree programmes and Post Grad programs. I also taught the Super Yacht 12 week programme for aspiring super yacht crew and Marine Operations and Skills for the New Zealand International Maritime School I also taught short courses in Marine Operations, Health and Safety, Day Skipper, Radio and Radar for NMIT’s Maritime School and for NZ Coastguard.
