Aug. 2011 - Jul. 2014Ankara, TurkeyDuties include: • Supporting the smooth implementation and follow-up of all ongoing projects varying under the topics of climate change, disaster risk reduction, water, energy efficiency, forestry and sustainable forest management, chemicals, marine protection and sustainable development as well as in the pipeline project topics of sustainable forest management, chemicals and sustainable development • Acting as the gender focal point for the UNDP Environment and Sustainable Development Portfolio • Organizing international technical missions to and from Turkey under the framework of South-South Cooperation. Missions up to date include the Komi Republic, Russian Federation, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Iran under the fields of sustainable forest management and climate change, sustainable transport, energy efficiency, alternative and renewable energies and disaster risk management. • Organizing large-scale national and international conferences and training programmes (Sustainable Energy for All Regional Conference 2014, Global Human Development Forum 2012, Post-2015 National Consultation Dialogue, GARD, UNEP/MAP report launch under the Barcelona Convention and many more) • Ensuring coordination among experts & ensuring that their results are delivered • Preparing reports needed by the Environment and Sustainable Development Portfolio • Preparing speeches for the UNDP Resident Representative and Deputy Resident Representative, presentations and information notes • Delivering presentations/speeches on behalf of the Environment and Sustainable Development Portfolio • Carrying out partnership negotiations with potential stakeholders specifically in the fields of disaster risk reduction, sustainable forest management and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) • Contributing to project proposal preparations • Gender focal point of the Environment and Sustainable Development Programme under UNDP Turkey
