Nov. 2015 - Feb. 2017Oxford, United KingdomFor scientific publishing house Elsevier I was part of a small team spearheading a company-wide project to reposition the hosting platform for all our online products (Totalling over a hundred projects across several dozen development teams and three continents) onto a new cloud-based, devops-focused, scalable system. My role included: - Enterprise grade cloud computing and transition from traditional server hosting to cloud environments.
- Contributions to business-wide systems processes and standards for dev-ops across the multi-national company.
- Local team training in Git,
- Driving development process via scrums, sprint planning and Kanban Jira boards.
- Working with security teams to provide PCI-compliance in the cloud.
- Developing technical solutions and social training for federated login to AWS (Including SAML/ADFS integration) (Tools used: Active Directory, Python, AWS API)
- Development of Terraform and Puppet modules for consistent deployment
- Spearheading a project to produce consistent and secured base operating systems for enterprise-wide use (Tools used: Packer, Ansible, Vagrant, Virtualbox)
- A reliable and easy-to-use virtualbox appliance to ensure consistency of versioning and operating system across our toolset and development (eg. Terraform, packer, saml configuration AWS tools etc. (Tools used: Packer, Ansible, Bash scripting, Virtualbox)
