Dec. 2024This role involves supporting individuals in acute distress, often experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm, or overwhelming anxiety. Every conversation requires active listening, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and thoughtful in emotionally intense situations. I use guided discovery techniques to help texters make sense of their emotions, problem solve and create safety plans where needed. I receive regular training in suicide prevention, trauma-informed care and safeguarding, and these have deepened my confidence and practical understanding of risk management.
