Jan. 2016 - Dec. 2021It’s How You Get There, The History Channel 2016 - 2021 Our show ran on History Channel and is now available in full on Tubi. I have always loved the original BBC “Top Gear” show, both in the UK and America. As I saw the magazine world starting to change, from editorial content to more video-based content on the web, I thought it would be wise to start a video web project. As an avid motorcycle enthusiast myself, our first attempt was a motorcycle portal called “AllAboutBikes”, which was magazine-centric and included review videos. To our delight, the demand for video was huge, so I started a video production department and covered all the new motorcycles and products that were being launched. That then naturally morphed into a fully-fledged TV show called “It’s How You Get There”. I successfully pitched it to A&E networks for History Channel: they gave me a contract, and we were cleared for takeoff! I starred, produced, wrote, and created the show. I developed the whole thing from scratch with my partners, Accord Productions. We came a long way from just motorcycles. We ended up covering all types of automotive vehicles, farm machinery, aviation, trains, peddle power, and even wind-based vehicles. The only rule was they still had to have some type of engine. We were even in a Phillips 66 acrobatic airshow airplane at the Fun-and-Sun event in Lakeland, Florida. We were also invited by Fiat to cover the whole fleet of vehicles at their Bondurant high performance race school in Phoenix, Arizona. We ice-raced motorcycles with Moose Racing on Wisconsin Lake and stayed in Grand RV’s while fishing. The three hosts were always competing with each other: my character was very jovial and “British”, and I broke things regularly. Sam Nehme is a world class Jet Ski racer from Florida who also broke things; we are great friends and great rivals at the same time. Jenn Barlow is our fast and furious female counterpart who keeps the boys in shape.
