Jan. 2023Montgomery County, Ohio, United StatesAs Co-Chair of the Montgomery County Community Overdose Action Team’s Harm Reduction Branch, I steward collaborative initiatives that bridge public health infrastructure and community-driven harm reduction efforts. My role includes facilitating monthly stakeholder meetings with representatives from public health, harm reduction, healthcare, and grassroots organizations to align priorities and troubleshoot barriers. I co-led the development of the branch’s three-year strategic plan, which focuses on reducing stigma, expanding overdose prevention education, and improving equitable access to lifesaving resources. Current projects I help execute include: Faces of Harm Reduction - A public messaging campaign and storytelling initiative amplifying the voices of individuals impacted by substance use to inform policy and public perception. Overdose Preparedness Planning Framework - A comprehensive overdose preparedness planning framework with resource guides to help individuals plan for potential overdose events. Safer Substance Use - A safer substance use educational campaign aimed at people who use drugs and those who care about them that provides information about using substances safely in order to prevent harm.
