Michael Ruiz began his career in hospitality, spending over a decade in senior leadership roles with Marriott Hotels and managing properties under IHG and Radisson. Across the U.S. and Asia, he led hotel portfolios with a focus on connection, culture, and operational excellence—proving that hospitality is never just about service; it’s about people. As technology transformed the industry, Michael saw a growing need: to bridge the timeless values of hospitality with the power of modern tools. This vision led him to launch The Hotel Hero, an online community built to empower the heart of hospitality—its people. Through storytelling, education, and leadership insights, The Hotel Hero addresses a crucial gap: while technology accelerates, guest experience, service, and human leadership must evolve alongside it. To take this mission even further, Michael founded Halomesh Technologies Inc., a software company creating digital tools for hospitality professionals. Its flagship product, HaloReview (formerly Reputation Guard AI), uses artificial intelligence to help hotels analyze guest reviews, craft thoughtful responses, and turn insights into real-time operational actions—saving time, boosting guest satisfaction, and improving team performance. Michael also acts as a Strategic Advisor and Managing Partner for a family-owned boutique hotel in the Philippines. In this role, he offers high-level guidance on brand development, service standards, and sustainable growth—blending international best practices with the warmth of local hospitality. For Michael, leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about creating spaces where people thrive. Whether through The Hotel Hero, Halomesh Technologies, or his advisory work, he’s building a hospitality movement that merges tradition with technology, and always puts people first.
