Feb. 2022United States, WashingtonAfter Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, helped several nonprofits, and a political campaign interested in reaching out to the Ukrainian community
• Attended national military seminars in Washington DC with experts who assessed with military and humanitarian needs in Ukraine. I still attend online if I cannot attend in person (ongoing)
• Helping collect needed items for the Humanitarian Center at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Silver Spring, MD for shipment to Ukraine
• Helped design a new VA system for Ukraine that would allow combat wounded veterans to receive physical, mental and vocational training in one facility. (Ideally this facility would include housing for families who would also receive support)
• Attended seminars on how to help Ukraine best address its military strengths and weaknesses by defense contractors and DOD officials
Attended and took leadership roles, and strategized meetings with legislators as a member of the American Coalition for Ukraine-Ukrainian Legislative Summit, which takes place in Washington DC every 6 months, including supporters from all 50 states (I participated with Texas and twice with Florida)
