As a junior/trainee member of staff my job role continually changed and progressed along with my abilities and knowledge. • General administration duties: - filing, answering the phones, typing letters and emails to clients, keeping our client database up to date and checking that only relevant information is held for each client.
• Entering time sheets onto Eureka for the whole team and producing time prints for sales invoices. • Typing up, analysing and reconciling bank accounts, Expenses, Income, Creditors and Debtors and cross casting everything to make sure that all the information contained on the worksheets is correct. • Creating extended trial balance sheets using opening balances, information produced from the bank and cashbook analysis, adding journals for accruals, prepayments, use of home as office, depreciation cost and charges. • I worked off-site, at a client’s office on my own one day a week, entering their timesheet information onto an excel spreadsheet and reconciling the statements given to them by the agencies that they use. • I was given my own clients to be the main point of contact with, for this I remind them when we needed to have their bank statements and information in to complete each VAT quarter as they come around. I needed to make sure that we have all relevant information and that the information has been correctly input on to VT so that the accountants can file the VAT for each quarter. • I produced draft accounts to the profit and loss stage for sole traders which are then used when filing their self-assessments through the HMRC website.
• I produced draft accounts for rentals including single and shared ownership.
