Northrop GrummanProgram Cost Control Analyst
Aug. 2017 - Jan. 2019I supported 20 Cost Account Managers (CAM) on 2 Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to manage their contractual technical work scope using program cost control systems. Collectively in this role I successfully managed and ensured EVMS compliance on over 10 Million dollars worth of technical work scope for System and Test Engineering efforts on an aircraft design program. I started by maintaining accurate records and proper accounting of expenditures down to the penny and regularly worked with the CAMs. At predetermined times in accordance with the program monthly rhythm I collected various financial and EVMS data outputs from from our program cost systems. I worked directly with the CAMS to refine pure financial data by incorporating technical rational and help them understand their accounts. This added fidelity was essential to explaining actuals, justifying trends, refining projections and challenging areas that were overestimated or in some cases overrunning. I also assisted in incorporating and estimating budget for new contractual work scope. As a result CAMS and program leadership were able to make more informed choices, ensure funding availably, and eliminate cash flow related schedule delays. This support I provided via my analysis directly saved the program over 5 million in future program costs via more accurate labor projections. This money was used to either reduce program risk or realize program risk without the need for the use of Management Reserve funds. This translated to better profitability and program margins. All of my IPTS and CAMs passed multiple internal and external audits from both DCMA and Deloitte related to their work scope financial data. Better yet there was no untimely reduction of existing employees due to funding and no schedule delays due to funding availability.
