Feb. 2024Cave Creek, Arizona, United States• Hired to structure the polo team for a person that is new to the sport and is a high professional in his field of veterinary equine medicine. When I arrived at the club, I noticed that there were no polo grooms, and there has a high turnover with facility cleaning personnel. Using my network of polo players around the U.S. I identified, interviewed, and recruited polo grooms to maintain the facilities, and keep the horses in shape. We increased the staff budget and achieved the foundation of a polo team with clean facilities and healthy horses. • As one of the club’s development strategies, we started a polo academy which I represent and teach in. When it began, there were no clients, and no club exposure whatsoever. I took the initiative to begin and run a social media marketing campaign to get the idea of polo and learning this new sport out to the public. We have now 6 recurring students that contribute to the club’s income and have a chance to become permanent members.
• Another of mine at Cave Creek Equine Polo is to train green ponies so that the can learn and become competitive players as well. This requires discipline, patience, the capacity to improvise, and solve problems quickly. Currently there are three new ponies at the early playing stage, when none were even close to that point the day I arrived. • My boss and owner of the club has now the tranquility to enjoy his horses, his club, and his game. He has been able to improve his competitive level drastically due to these large changes in his organization.
Colombia Polo ExperienceProject And Process Manager
Mar. 2023Bogota, D.C., Capital District, Colombia• Organized a Polo oriented experience independently for clients from Arizona interested in playing polo overseas (Bogota, Colombia). To accomplish this, I had to organize every aspect of their trip such as schedule, hotels, food, transportation, and horse acquisition for the tournament they would be participating in at the end of their stay.
• Before the trip, I carried out a marketing campaign in Phoenix and put together a presentation for the clients that had expressed their interest. This presentation included all the details in the schedule, polo training and tournament, tourism activities, transportation services, hotels, and finally, pricing.
• Additionally, budget development and accounting tasks had to be carried out to ensure that every aspect of the trip was paid for, while leaving proceeds intact.
