They align the cannon using sighting equipment, handle various types of ammunition, and execute fire missions based on data from the Fire Direction Center. Gunners also perform routine maintenance on the weapon, ensure safety procedures are followed, and assist in the emplacement and movement of the artillery piece. Working as part of a team, they communicate with other crewmembers to ensure accurate and effective artillery support during combat operations.
