Darren McStay, hailing from London, UK, is an Actor & Filmmaker. He resides in Helsinki, Finland, where he runs Polymath House Productions, creating both educational and fictional content, gaining him over ten million views and a quarter of a million subscribers to his YouTube channel, Improve Your Voice. McStay initially trained in graphic design and fine art. It wasn't until some years later that he completed a master's degree in acting and simultaneously followed a more creative "hands-on" role behind the camera. Darren wrote his first screenplay over a decade ago and has gradually been taking the necessary steps to switch over his efforts from professional acting and online content creation to the role of writer-director. In addition to his previous education, McStay completed training at Prague Film School, where he won the Audience Award for Best Film. His first two short films, Pop and Cupid's Arrow, have gathered numerous awards on the international festival circuit. Darren's multifaceted artistic journey is deeply rooted in performance and visual arts. With a Master's in Acting from East 15 Acting School, he has honed his craft on prestigious stages such as the National Theatre and the Royal Opera House, and notably in the renowned production of 'WarHorse' on London's West End. His theatrical experience seamlessly transitions to the screen, where Darren has made his mark in film, television, and voice-over work, enriching various projects with his dynamic presence and versatility. In addition to his acting career, Darren's passion for graphic design and tattoo art introduces a unique visual style to his work, complementing his extensive experience in front of and behind the camera. His involvement in the music industry further broadens his artistic scope; he has performed at major venues and festivals like Glastonbury and Boomtown and shared stages with acclaimed acts such as Scissor Sisters and The Blockheads.
