Feb. 2023A2SV - Africa to Silicon Valley is a nonprofit social enterprise that enables talented young African software engineers to create digital solutions to Africa’s most pressing problems. We upskill high-potential university students, connect them with internship interviews at the world’s top tech companies, and enable them to create digital solutions to urgent problems in their home countries. The program is free for students, making the opportunity available for youth with talent but lack the means to use it. A2SV’s rigorous training program prepares students for internships with companies like Google, Palantir, and Coinbase. The internships give students the experience they need to design and build products that improve the quality of life in Africa. The first group of A2SV students achieved a 54% (12/22) success rate at Google internship interviews for summer 2021. As a Head of EMEA partnerships at A2SV , it is my immense pleasure to create and carry out Partnerships in the EMEA region (and beyond!) and put African tech talent on the tech world map.

Oct. 2012 - Jun. 2014By using what I learned in The Foundation, I founded my first software startup with only $800 dollars and no business or marketing skills - and turned it into one of the most promising European healthcare startups. I used LinkedIn to find my target market, research their problems and validate my software idea - and after that, to pre-sell the software before we wrote a single line of code. This was an amazing experience because it taught me that I only need to listen to my potential clients and ask questions to be able to make a product that really solves their problems - and that they want to pay for. Learning how to use LinkedIn to get first traction, validation and first sales was valuable because I taught me that you don't have to have a marketing budget to build your product or get first revenue.
