Oct. 2017 - Feb. 2022South Surrey The Youth Knowledge, Resources and Understanding (Youth KRU) project is a Skills Link program offering life/employability skills and paid work experience placements to youth aged 15-30 with multiple barriers to employment. My role in this program is to support the recruitment and the ongoing development, planning and delivery of individual and group-based training for the participants in the program. -Assess the client's skills and abilities, employment interest and barriers to successful employment to determine employment needs and develop a plan of action identifying level of support
-Clarify employment, training or career goals by exploring local labour market, education and training opportunities/resources including apprenticeship opportunities
-Deliver a suite of pre-emplyment workshops on job readiness, career exploration, life skills, job attainment and employment related skills
-Ensure that curriculum is current, engaging and geared toward youth- focusing on interactive activities
-Responsible for providing youth with coaching and support both individually and in a group setting
-Empower youth through the nature of program material, on going support and connecting to community resources as appropriate -Responsible for coordinating project curriculum ex: field trips, guest speakers and youth placements -Participate in program marketing and recruitment of appropriate program participants -Support group development, including crisis management and conflict resolution
