Mar. 2020 - Apr. 2024Surrey, British Columbia, CanadaThe Surrey Intercultural Seniors Social Inclusion Partnership (SISSIP) Network Project is a Collective Impact Initiative that aims to address barriers to social inclusion and engagement for seniors 55+, to make Surrey a more inter-culturally inclusive and engaged community. The Network consists of six organizations: the Backbone Organization, Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICS) and five Collaborating Organizations, the City of Surrey, Seniors Come Share Society, SOURCES, UNITI and Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association (FRAFCA). Working alongside UNITI, Surrey SHARES was created for seniors in the Surrey community that would like to meet likeminded people, who may be isolated and alone, who would enjoy learning about storytelling and who are interested in doing some deep diving into what is and is out of balance in their life. Together, over the course of 8 weeks we develop a meaningful story that will be professionally recorded at the end while we work through limiting beliefs as we create strong supported goals and action plans. - Co-create the program - Create material for the Life Coaching component of the program - Facilitate group coaching sessions - Facilitate one on one sessions weekly with each participant where we work through what is out of balance in their life - Create supported goals and specific action plans - Provide accountability to those in the program - Plan and support the Social Committee in pulling together events - Participate in collective impact with the rest of the SISSIP Network - Sit on a Mental Health Committee for the community of Surrey - Work with Storytelling Coach to ensure that the program objectives are met - Curated and supported the publishing of a Best Selling Anthology- Surrey SHARES Stories
