Los Angeles CAPartnered with Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat and owner Harriet Bullitt to build an educationally specific campus for music and educationally related retreats, estimated cost $22 million dollars in 2001 (appr. $40 million in 2022 dollars) Raised $8.5 million (18.2 million in 2022 dollars) in grants and gifts from foundations (Alcoa Foundation, US West, Greater Wenatchee Community Foundation, Microsoft Corporation, Boeing, Thomastik-Infeld, Liberty Orchards) and over 400 individual members, business sponsors. Major Grant from the Theodore Presser Foundation and Beidler Family for new instruments in the Department of Music, Eastern Mennonite University 1993, Release Time Grant for research and performance of lost and neglected works in viola and chamber music repertoire, through the Library of Congress, Washington D.C. Eastern Mennonite University 1992 – 1993 Virginia Commission for the Arts Grant for the establishment of a youth orchestra program in the central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, 1990 Major Grant from the Elam Steiner family in support of an Artist-in-Residence Program in the music department, Eastern Mennonite University. $250,000 grants from the University of Arizona Foundation for Val Coeur String Quartet touring including the Soviet Union coordinated by Rafael Hillyer, Juilliard Quartet.
