Conducts assigned class sessions in accordance with the overall design of the 21st Century CLC Program. Offers support and assistance with assignments, and special projects. Provides tutoring and teaching in the subject areas. Participates in scheduled out-of-class activities with the students. Maintains accurate participant records and evaluates student progress in support of project objectives. Collaborates with other project staff internally and other community programs externally. Also responsible for the management of instructional time, management of student behavior, instructional presentation, monitoring student performance, and providing feedback. Participates in professional learning activities and trainings, collaborates with parents, and provides progress reports. Engages students in grades K-9 in individualized instruction in science, math and ELA/reading, using technology tools.
Maintains high levels of student time on task. Establishes rules and procedures that maintain clear, firm, and reasonable work standards that govern the handling of routine administrative matters; verbal participation during different types of activities; student movement in the classroom and centers during different types of instructional and non-instructional activities, while maintaining the dignity of the student. Links instructional activities to prior learning; utilizes tools of inquiry, and structure to create learning activities that make the subject matter understandable and meaningful; creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners; uses technology to support instruction. Provides tasks that students handle with a high rate of success; appropriate levels of questions; and makes sure that assignments are clear.
Interacts effectively and appropriately with students, co-workers, parents, and community; and treats all students in a fair and equitable manner.
