Mothers HelpersGeneral Manager
Oct. 2015 - May. 2016New ZealandWorking with parents and families in regards to Maternal Mental Health, Perinatal Distress and Depression, Maternal Stress and Anxiety. Also working with families around establishing routines and sleep patterns, using the Science of Sleep as opposed to "trendy" methods of sleep "training" Whilst there are known risk factors when it comes to PND and Perinatal Distress, sometimes it can hit without warning. Mothers Helpers successfully run a Recovery Programme and are about to launch our Prevention programme for At Risk Mothers. Personally, I also wish to be a voice, a very loud one, when it comes to destigmatising Maternal Mental Health and making it easier for people to speak about out loud, rather than in hushed tones behind closed doors. We are strong advocates that we need to support the "supporters" just as much as we support the Mothers and by helping them better understand what is happening, we are empowering that entire family through this time.
