Served as the principal advisor to the Inspector General and senior executives for all mission areas and activities-positioning, training, background preparation, ongoing audits, employee relations, and communications/coordination with main Treasury and the Secretary's office. Project managed organization participation and outreach efforts in multi-venue national tax trade shows. Value-Added Achievements:
Led all communications and legislative affairs after the appointment of a new IG to oversee a troubled asset relief funds program. Quickly built forward momentum and managed the message that defined the role of the Special IG to a highly contentious and criticized program. Streamlined the Congressional engagement process making it more proactive in information sharing. Earned the reputation as the "go-to" resource for general questions, a 10x increase in direct briefings, and formal testimony decreased from 4-6 to 1-2 per year. Obtained Congressional appropriation of $15M of funds to oversee the progress and effectiveness of the Universal Health Care system by providing detailed analysis and a sound cost and risk proposal to the committee responsible for the final bill.
