Elevated the vendor assortment by introducing high end brands and trendy products. Total sales increased 3 times during tenure (7-year period).
• Implemented staffing changes that included introducing men to the apparel selling team creating diversity, doubling the warehouse team with increased product flow, as well as eliminating a commission structure to improve department morale.
• Responsible for hiring, managing, mentoring, training, and reviewing of assistant buyers, managers, sales associates, and warehouse employees totaling up to 17-20 employees.
• Increased margins on apparel and accessory product 10% within the first year and ended 15% up to ensure profitability, maximizing sell-thru but still being competitive in the market.
• Assisted department managers with merchandising displays to create consistent look/feel and maximize profitability.
• Developed, maintained and grew partnerships with up to 50 vendor reps/upper management to ensure proper support on both ends in terms of maximum inventory buys, shipping, pricing, profit, marketing, and merchandising online and in store. • Partnered with Ecom team to ensure product images, assets, and marketing promotional windows are implemented to increase Ecom visibility and sales.
