Social Media Producer
The New OptimistsSocial Media Producer
Mar. 2016 - May. 2016Birmingham and OnlineThe New Optimists have commissioned a new musical "The Hand That Feed", to be premiered on the steps of St Martin's Church in the Bullring in Birmingham City Centre on 14th May 2016. I am joining the Narrativium Project (the umbrella project all their creative commissions headline under) as a social media producer with specific responsibility to reach out to engage a digital audiences while quantifying and helping to retain a street audience. My approach is company driven story telling about how the production was conceived and how it's coming together while researching and sharing contextual resources about the musicals subject matter food crime and food fraud to the prospective audience. And lots of social media monitoring, mentoring and technology preparations to capture, share and amplify the #StopFoodCrime message in an attempt to create a sustained awareness of the issue beyond the live performances. As the performance is free to attend I am exploring the notion of creating a goodie bag that audience members who sign up while following the production's story online can collect on the day in an attempt to quantify and incentivise attendance to this free street performance. During my research documents and key resources are being gathered to create a digital goodie bag available as complement information to sit alongside the productions legacy.
