Assisted Director and Deputy Director, as required, with the development, management and implementation of the USAID/CAR Regional Training Projects. In 2002 I was promoted to a position of Senior Training Specialist and was responsible for the START Economic Growth portfolio. Provided updates and analytical analyses on the recent events in the area of economy and finance to USAID. Developed budgets for trainings including regional USAID-funded training projects. Coordinated all logistics arrangements, including air reservations, hotels, meet and greet services, etc.; arranged interpretation and logistical services as necessary; ensure that arrangements made by training providers on behalf of participants are in line with project standards. Served as a liaison between USAID/CAR, USAID contractors and host government staff on issues related to participants’ nomination, interviewing, selection, approval and processing procedures and criteria. Coordinated USAID/CAR Training Program field offices activities and provide guidelines on projects’ implementation. Conducted monitoring of the projects’ results and participants’ accomplishments, and further submitted that information to all involved stakeholders. Evaluated proposals, conducted negotiations with potential training providers, submitted recommendations on program issues to USAID/CAR and TA contractors. As a senior program specialist, I oversaw all activities listed above. In addition to my responsibilities, I coordinated personnel activities including activities of field offices in CAR Republics, budget developments for regional and country specific programs. Served as a recruiter, developed tests for potential candidates, led and facilitated interviews, developed and conducted trainings for newly hired specialists and assistants.
