I overhauled the accounting system to better suit the reporting needs of the company. Cash flow optimization was critical to navigate growth in a fast-paced technology start-up. I gathered data, produced projections and made recommendations to the executives to ensure solvency through a period of heavy up-front investment. As a one-man-department, I was in charge of executing all accounting functions across 4 separate entities. This includes, but is not limited to, AP, AR, revenue recognition, month-end close, cryptocurrency entries and reconciliation, credit card expense reporting and providing financial statements to management & investors. I also managed all payroll duties as the company experienced a 133% personnel growth.

At Nisolo, I was in charge of daily financial operations during a period of significant growth. As the first in-house accountant I took ownership over all accounting and reporting processes. This included transitioning our accounting system, revising the existing chart of accounts to improve visibility into expenses, and building a comprehensive financial model in Excel. This financial model included all 3 financial statements with YTD actuals and YoY comparisons, monthly revenue forecasts based on unit sales projections, production estimates for suppliers, and details for all financing activities. Using this model, I contributed to creating pitch presentations for prospective investors and I was instrumental in building a relationship with a new banking institution providing access to new capital. Other responsibilities included weekly revenue and cash flow reports to management team, executing month-end close process comprising of balance sheet reconciliations, cash-to-revenue reconciliation, COGS realization, corporate card entries and recurring monthly AJEs. I was in charge of payroll, initiating wire transfers to vendors, sales tax reporting, invoicing third party partners and overall GL maintenance.

As Sprinkle Lab's first Finance Manager, I oversaw all of the financial operations of the organization during a period of 109% YoY revenue growth. Upon arrival, I was responsible for collecting and organizing historical data and uploading all transactions into a new accounting system (Quickbooks Online). Another important priority was to determine a strategic method to forecast sales. Using 3 years of data in Salesforce, I analyzed the volume of sales opportunities for each quarter, conversion rates and average revenue per project to establish conservative, baseline and stretch goals for the upcoming year. I also implemented a production budget review process to ensure each opportunity was profitable and provided enough cash cushion to cover overhead costs for slower months. The above accomplishments made each department more efficient and increased visibility to the founders on the financial state of the company. Responsibilities include balance sheet maintenance (AR, AP, FA, cash), monthly financial reporting and cash flow forecasting, expense reporting, and production budget reviews.
