BoxMetaSystems Administrator
Jun. 2014Jacksonville, Florida AreaA System's Administrator for a Managed IT Services company is different than a static IT position. In a Managed IT environment, I am responsible for learning several different network infrastructures and applications that are being used by our Small Business and Enterprise clients. Unlike a static IT position where you are dealing with the same applications and the same network day in and day out, my position in Managed IT affords me the opportunity to deal with dynamic networks and applications that differ from client to client. Being able to flow from one issue to the next while changing environments helps me remain alert and allows me to learn new dynamics and resolve new issues on a daily basis. It really gives me an excellent platform to expand my knowledge and experience in several different areas, all revolving around the IT infrastructure. As part of a managed IT team, customer service and interaction are of utmost importance, due to the fact that I am dealing with not just one client or end user, but several clients and several end users on a daily basis. And because the majority of our support is performed remotely, proper, effective communication skills are extremely important.
