Azza's GalleryArtist
Sep. 2005Plymouth, England, United KingdomWelcome to Azza's Gallery: Art is You, and You are Art Art has always been my passion. Even though I had to put it aside to pursue my Fashion Design degree at Esmod Dubai, creativity never truly left me. Now, with graduation behind me, I'm constantly itching to create, squeezing in sketching sessions whenever I can find time. The skills I've honed over the years – in art, curation, workshops across different schools, and mural projects – are all fueling the growth of Azza's Gallery. My dream is to one day open a physical space, not just to support myself as an artist, but to empower the next generation and share my knowledge. This dedication to fostering creativity extends far beyond the canvas. Take my curated exhibition, "Sudan: Past, Present, and Future." It wasn't just an art show; it was a full sensory experience. Photos, videos, artworks, and music were paired with authentic Sudanese snacks and books, creating a powerful connection for visitors. For me, art is a bridge – a tool to educate, advocate, and connect communities. As a Black, Muslim, female, Sudanese artist, I represent the power of diversity. My mission is to inspire the next generation, showcasing the richness multicultural perspectives bring to art. My 2021 project, "Soul-ection," is a prime example. This collection of 32 artworks honored legendary Sudanese musicians, displayed across Plymouth and even gracing national billboards during Black History Month. Inspired by the soul music of the 60s-80s, "Soul-ection" captured the essence of artistic freedom on canvas, a vibrant testament to a bygone era. My journey is a celebration of self-expression, cultural exploration, and the transformative power of art. Join me on this journey, and let's create something beautiful together.
