I worked to bring the work of ECLC to a wider audience and to build relationships with other cloud groups such as ODCA, ONF, and OMA. ECLC is a council of cloud computing buyers and includes a number of the largest users of clouds, many of which have built private clouds. Among the more active ECLC members over the time I was active with it were: Deutsche Bank, ING, Bank of America, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Dassault, Motorola, Photronics, Northrop-Grumman, State Street Financial, Thales Corporation and Univa. We also collaborated closely with Cisco, ServiceMesh, Netronome, PLUMgrid, and Syracuse University.

Previously director of study on US corporations and their use of grid computing and Web services. Co-director of a related study examining how Japanese corporations are using grids and Web services. The US study examines how grids impact productivity and cost savings, change business processes and alter the use of broadband connectivity. The goal was to develop a quantitative analysis to provide to sponsors of the study and help inform policies to expand broadband and IT use in the US economy. I have also prepared a series of policy papers on international trade and economic issues for ESI that include studies of the liberalization of state-owned monopolies in the service industries, trade frictions in the helicopter industry and the impact of liberalization in the air express industry. Previous work for ESI has included a co-authored volume analyzing the economic impact of NAFTA.
