Company: MarVista is an international independent entertainment studio producing and distributing 60+ made-for-television movies per year.
Role: Served as the go-to advisor on all HR-related issues for productions and corporate offices. - Partnered with Production Executives to support smooth and timely production deal negotiations and crew onboarding. Drafted complex Producer and Director contracts.
- Served as a resource for production and corporate leadership seeking guidance on performance management issues and complex employee relations challenges.
- Expanded Insights Discovery training program, promoting the company’s core values and diverse employee communication styles. Incorporated program elements into all facets of performance management and employee relations.
- Conducted regular one-on-one coaching sessions with managers to address challenges, provide feedback, and help them develop strategies for improving team performance.
- Pioneered a Diversity, Inclusion, and Values Initiative to improve intergroup interaction and reduce
unconscious bias, prejudice and discrimination. Led an employee task force in defining “what good looks like” for behaviors supporting the company’s values.
- Initiated compliance improvements by creating new Employee Handbook, documentation templates, FLSA standards and records retention protocols. Conducted FLSA, compensation and payroll audits.
- Managed full talent acquisition life cycle, including sourcing, screening, pre-employment assessments, offers, and onboarding.
- Managed COVID-19 communications and protocols for corporate and production.
- Created customized sexual harassment training for managers and non-managers.
