Ensured systems, including Strike Warfare (TLAM-specific), Anti-Submarine Warfare, ordnance/5" guns, and small arms supporting Force Protection (FP) requirements met all specifications. Advised commanding officer on weapons operations, capabilities, and problems. Managed day-to-day operation and operational maintenance of all weapons and weapons control equipment and associated qualifications of shipboard personnel. Supervised care, handling, and stowage of munitions and use of explosives. • Qualified as a Tactical Action Officer, Gunnery Direction Officer, and Anti-Terrorism Tactical Watch Officer.
• Created ship’s firing plans to include Standard Missiles, Torpedoes, Crew Served Weapons, Vertical Launched ASROCs, and small arms effectively reducing by-event notice creation and improving the ship’s ability to continually train to different weapons firing evolutions.
• Led multiple training teams to train all shipboard personnel across various warfare areas to include Anti-Terrorism Training Team; Visit, Board, Search and Seizure Team; also a member of the Combat Systems and Ship's Integrated Training Team.
• Led department through major maintenance availability including the complete overhaul of one major weapons system, upgrade of one weapons system, and installation of upgraded Sonar Suite, encompassing over 100 work packages and over six million dollars in work.
• Revised Force Protection Standard Operating Procedures and preplanned responses.
• Led ship through all major certifications, including Cruise Missile Tatical Qualification, Conventional Ordnance Safety Review, ASW Qualification.
• Planned and executed one major and multiple minor ammunition onload and offload evolutions.
