I played an instrumental role in recording the highest number of applicants in the history of the CTE department of New Horizons, over 2000 applicants. I lead workshops for job seekers. These workshops cover topics including job searching strategies, application completion techniques, and resume building. My goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the job market successfully. Responsible for creating, redefining and updating the Workforce Wednesday curriculum for Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors and students. Utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas, I created engaging and relevant content that effectively prepares students with employability modules for the workforce. I organize job fairs and career events that connect students directly with potential employers. These events provide students with valuable networking opportunities and firsthand insights into various industries. I assist students in the Dual Enrollment process through Virginia Peninsula Community College. Guiding students through the enrollment process, helping them understand their course options, and ensuring they are set up for academic success. In this role, I am committed to providing comprehensive career guidance that empowers students to make informed decisions about their future.
