Work Background
Chief Executive Officer
Kindred Comics Ltd.Chief Executive Officer
Aug. 2021Croydon, England, United KingdomAfter almost 20 years as a singer, song writer and certified recording artist in the music industry, Riley decided to pivot into the world of comic books post-pandemic. Upon drawing what would become his flagship character back in 2021, he quickly realised he was equally as passionate about comic books as he was music and Ziro Comics was born. A few short months into his independent comic journey, with 1/3 of his first issue drawn and a handful of characters created, Riley partnered with long-time friend, comic book enthusiast, and overall ideas man, Glen Murphy, and what was once Ziro was redubbed 'Kindred' Comics, in light of their friendship. Today, after a successfully funded Kickstarter and an epic star-studded launch party, Extraman stands not only as the first, only and most promising black BRITISH superhero (try and think of another), but the first and only independent superhero comic created and released by a British R&B singer ever.

Oct. 2011 - Mar. 2020London, England, United KingdomBritish-bred Jermaine Riley emerged in the early 2000's as an influential teenage triple threat and lead singer of UK R&B trio Fun*dmental '03. Fast forward to adulthood — a couple of record deals, hundreds of shows, several tours, a few music videos, a brief mentorship from Ne-Yo and an everlasting back catalogue of songs later — and you will find Riley singing, dancing and standing strong as a seasoned solo artist, hands-on in every creative aspect of his career. Without a record deal, his debut solo album Hello Earth was released for free back in 2012, sprinkled with a star-studded cast of producers (Harmony Samuels, Dready, Maleek Berry, James Ighile) and several notable features from upcoming talent. The Superman-themed project achieved over 150,000 downloads online, outside of all streaming services, thanks to devoted fans showing sincere support since Riley’s boyband days. Off the back of its critical acclaim, the videos for the lead singles “Key To The City” and “Smallville” (both produced by Harmony Samuels) premiered on BET Internationals 106&Park and consequently, Riley captured the attention of Japanese label P-Vine Records, inking a distribution deal and placing the album on shelves in over 600 record stores across Japan. Some years later, after seven conceptual bodies of work and hitting 1 million plays on Soundcloud, Riley was flown to South Korea and awarded with a World Pop Music Award for "R&B Pioneer". Today, Riley has many a notch on his belt; writing, arranging, mixing, engineering and executive producing his own projects and designing all his artwork, website, merch and promo material. Not to mention co-directing and editing his music videos. All the above has laid the foundation for the official releases that the new, bold and outspoken all-round entertainer has in store for his fans for the years to come.
