Jan. 2005 - Dec. 2008• Oversaw the Development Department including the hiring, training and supervision of a part-time administrative assistant/volunteer coordinator, seasonal kettle coordinator and over 100 volunteers.
• Raised over $600,000.00 annually by developing and executing special fund raising events and seasonal programs.
• Annually identified, requested and secured $160,000.00 plus in sources of revenue for all programs of the organization by building relationships with businesses, industry, foundations, and major donors to secure major gifts and increase specific funds, in-kind products and other financial support. • Secured over $200,000.00 through grant writing and served as grant compliance coordinator.
• Developed, implemented, and maintained a year – round mail appeal program and fund raising / marketing plan. • Developed the Annual Report and an Annual Meeting.
• Served as the official spokesperson for the organization.
• Developed a positive image of The Salvation Army and educated the community by creating / implementing external public relations programs and through interpersonal relationships with donors, volunteers, the media and other youth, family and faith based organizations. Took part in over 70 media interviews a year for the organization, wrote, recorded and produced public service announcements and promotional videos. Also managed the organization’s local website.
• Assisted in the planning and execution of publicity for monthly donation collection drives throughout the year.
• Assisted in preparing program budgets and safeguarding of financial and material donations.
• Ensured that the policies and procedures of The Salvation Army are followed in all Development and special event activities and programs.
