Mar. 2017 - Oct. 201842 Broadway -Oversaw design, strategy, and implementation of a 50,000 dollar training and technical assistance program to bring greater student voice to New York City Department of Education (DOE) policy decision-making processes.
-Managed and executed expansion from a single borough pilot to a large scale citywide program serving more than 2,000 youth. -Recruited, trained, and supervised ten program staff including adult facilitators and youth interns.
-Developed, refined, and facilitated a comprehensive and rigorous year-long leadership training curriculum for high school youth participants and DOE staff partners.
-Designed and launched the volunteer based ACE Network to serve as a professional learning community for practitioners focused on developing best practices within the youth serving nonprofit sector. Additional Work Includes: -Consultant and Coach for the Student Success Network supporting the design, implementation, and engagement of youth and staff to implement youth adult partnership practices to enhance the quality of service delivered to the networks’ 49 youth-serving organizations. The model will be applied to support a pilot set of councils for 5 of these direct service organizations. -Advanced the work of a 1.5 million dollar research initiative through NYU Metro Center (Previously Annenberg Institute) to study the longitudinal impact of civic engagement for youth working in partnership with adults on policy and practice in the Department of Education.
