Pet Advocacy Network Vice President of Government Affairs
Jan. 2024•Represents the Pet Advocacy Network and its members before federal, state and local governments while managing all aspects of legislative and regulatory portfolio, with personal responsibility for over 15 states. •Develop and cultivate relationships with legislators and state executive offices across the country, to advance a comprehensive legislative and regulatory agenda by creating and building alliances with related organizations to promote the interests and goals of the industry
•Oversee and direct the government affairs department, including hiring staff, managing the budget, strategic planning, and nationwide legislative engagement while liaising with the Board of Directors.
•Serve as the primary liaison and relationship lead with Congressional office and federal government partners, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and state health, agriculture, and wildlife departments.
•Work with communications staff to develop strategic communication plans and public awareness tools to support the overall legislative and regulatory strategy; collaborate and advise the organization on engagement opportunities for our members, including national lobby days, educational webinars, and recruitment efforts. •Plans and manages participation in the two largest trade shows of the year, including member recruitment, educational opportunities, brand growth, and budgetary considerations.
