Jul. 2014 - Oct. 2016Durham, NCHR/Payroll Processing: · Initiate payroll transactions via Iforms including creating new positions, processing supplemental payments, re-classifying and delimiting positions. · Process other related forms including I9s, non-compensatory payments, pay exceptions and FMLA. · Assist with coordinating the hiring of non-faculty appointed positions such as Post docs, Research Scholars, Research Scientists, etc. Serve as liaison with APT office and HR Regional Service Center.
· Communicate with managers and staff regarding payroll and personnel issues.
· Review reports, check and compare with source documents and bring significant items, changes, errors or omissions to the attention of the supervisor.
· Prepare employee orientation manuals and conduct departmental orientations.
· Assist departmental managers with sponsoring non-Duke affiliates, such as visiting observers, unpaid volunteers and interns. Advise managers on appropriate paperwork. Brass Ring - Recruitment process and Conduct Orientations for New Hires File management:
Set up/maintain personnel files to include active and terminated records. This includes the following:
· review of confirmation sheets received, bringing to the payroll coordinator’s attention any errors;
· enter updated personnel information into Pediatric database;
· filing of all payroll documents;
· purging of files to include terminations. Manage Compliance Files:
· Create new files and ensure each file has complete information at all times. This includes job descriptions, licensure/certification, dept/med ctr orientation, safety training, corporate compliance (HIPAA), employee health & wellness, PPS/Job competency evaluations and confidentiality agreements.
· Responsible for tracking licensure and certification information for positions that require licensure, (mainly nurses).
